Controller

This website is operated by Philipp Burk, Germany. The full postal address is available in the legal notice (Impressum) at vicehub-vi.com/de/impressum/. For any data protection queries, please use the contact details at the bottom of this page.

Hosting

This site is hosted on servers provided by Hetzner Online GmbH, located in Germany, within the EU. Keeping hosting inside the EU means your data is processed under EU data protection safeguards rather than being transferred to a third country.

Server log files

Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure automatically records a small set of technical data for each request in server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, browser type, and the referring URL. This is a standard technical measure used to run the site securely and to diagnose faults — it is not used to build profiles of individual visitors. Log data is kept only briefly and is then deleted or anonymised.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies of any kind — no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies, and no cookie-consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to. Nothing is stored in your browser by us.

The one exception is the spam protection on the newsletter sign-up form (Cloudflare Turnstile), which also does not normally set cookies but does connect to Cloudflare's servers when the form loads — see "Spam protection on the newsletter form" below. The rest of the site remains entirely cookie-free.

Analytics

We use Umami, a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics tool, to get a rough picture of which pages are read. Umami runs entirely on our own server (see Hosting above) — no visit data is passed to a third-party analytics company such as Google.

Umami is cookieless and does not build personal visitor profiles or track you across sessions or other websites. It only aggregates basic, non-identifying figures — such as page views, referring page, device/browser type and a country derived from a truncated IP address — and this data stays on our own server.

Newsletter (launch alerts)

On our newsletter page you can sign up voluntarily for "launch alerts" to receive email notifications about the GTA 6 launch (for example, as soon as preload goes live). Signing up only requires your email address.

Sign-up uses a double opt-in process: after submitting the form, we send you a confirmation email with a confirmation link. Your subscription only becomes active once you click that link. If you don't confirm, your email address is automatically deleted after 14 days — we do not send reminder emails.

To document your consent, we log the time and IP address of both the sign-up and the confirmation. The legal basis for sending the newsletter is your consent under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a).

Emails are sent through the mail infrastructure of our existing provider, ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, where our domain and mailboxes are already hosted. No additional third-party newsletter service is used.

Once confirmed, you receive a welcome email and, after that, only launch-related notifications (e.g. "preload is live"). We do not share your data with third parties.

You can withdraw your consent at any time: every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can simply email kontakt@vicehub-vi.com. After unsubscribing, your address is blocked and marked as unsubscribed, so it cannot be used to send further mail and so we can demonstrate the withdrawal.

Spam protection on the newsletter form: Cloudflare Turnstile

To protect the newsletter sign-up form from automated abuse (spam, bots), we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), with its EU establishment Cloudflare Germany GmbH.

When the sign-up form loads, your browser connects to Cloudflare's servers; this processes your IP address and certain browser characteristics to distinguish humans from bots. Unlike traditional CAPTCHAs, Turnstile does not normally set cookies for advertising or tracking purposes.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f) in preventing spam and abuse of our form. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is intended to provide an adequate level of protection for data transferred to the US. See Cloudflare's own privacy policy for further details.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site — for example links to Amazon (via the Amazon Associates programme) and other retailers — are affiliate links. Clicking one takes you away from this site to the retailer's own website, where that retailer's own privacy policy applies, not ours.

We do not pass any personal data about you to these retailers. Any cookies or trackers set once you land on a retailer's site are between you and that retailer. If you go on to buy something after clicking an affiliate link, we may earn a commission — this never changes the price you pay.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to: request access to the personal data we hold about you; request that inaccurate data be corrected; request erasure of your data; and object to or request restriction of processing, as well as data portability where it applies.

This site uses no cookies and keeps no visitor accounts, so beyond the brief, anonymised server log data described above, the only personal data we hold is what you voluntarily provide if you sign up for the newsletter (see "Newsletter (launch alerts)" above). If you believe your data protection rights have not been respected, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.
