With GTA 6 releasing November 19, 2026, you have 90 days from August 21 to wrap up GTA 5. The priorities: beat or replay the story, knock out the GTA Online goals you still care about (start with the Kortz Center Heist from July), and handle the setup work, meaning a linked Rockstar Games account, a PS4-to-PS5 migration if you need one, and enough free storage for preload on November 12. Rockstar has not confirmed that anything from GTA Online carries into GTA 6, so Shark Cards bought for that reason are a bad bet.

GTA 6 is not officially rated yet. The US PlayStation Store labels it "ESRB Rating Pending, Likely Mature 17+", which is the ESRB's own pre-release marker for a game expected to be rated M. An M is the overwhelmingly likely outcome: GTA V is rated M for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Sexual Content, Nudity, Strong Language and drug use, and Rockstar's official story about a drug runner and an ex-convict fits the same mold. Unlike Europe, an ESRB rating is not a law in the US, but major retailers card for M titles and a PS5 or Xbox child account will block the purchase and the launch.
